Sins of a Solar Empire version 1.1 beta 3 is now available for willing testers via Impulse.  This latest update contains several bug fixes and more.  A final update for the beta is expected later this month with the final v1.1 release to follow shortly thereafter. This Thursday we'll be releasing beta 3 of Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1 to testers.  This update is largely a series of fixes based on user-feedback.  We're planning one more beta release later this month before going final. Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1 Beta 2 is now available to all registered customers via Impulse. This latest update makes a number of balance changes based on tester feedback, plus fixes a number of bugs and other goodness. French games publication, Cyberstrategie , has sent word to us that Sins of a Solar Empire is now available in their home country.  Sins can now be found at retail locations around France for 39.99 Euros. While earlier than I think anyone saw it coming, G4TV has nominated Sins of a Solar Empire for Strategy Game of the Year! This puts Sins up against only one other PC game (World in Conflict) while the other nominees are console titles. Sins of a Solar Empire version 1.05 is now available to all registered owners of the game.  This new update includes two new maps plus a number of multiplayer and single-player fixes. For a full change log, please check out this thread . To obtain the new patch, just click on the Download Updates button from the Sins main menu, or use our new Impulse client (beta).

Soon we'll be releasing the v1.05 update for Sins of a Solar Empire that should address many of the multiplayer issues some players have reported. This is a minor patch, however; more substantial updates will arrive with version 1.1. v1.05 Changes: Fixed bug deallocating particle pool memory. Fixed cargo ship related crash caused when loading a saved game. Increased the maximum length of map description text. If the text is too long, it will no longer crash the game. AI missions ...

Stardock Entertainment and Kalypso Media are pleased to announce the signing of an agreement that will finally bring Sins of a Solar Empire to retail stores throughout Europe.  The game will start appearing at retail beginning in late May/early June, though no specific dates have yet been set. We'll post more information as soon as it becomes available.

The Sins of a Solar Empire Video Contest has come to an end and the winners have been chosen.  Stardock and Ironclad send their thanks to everyone who entered the contest; you all did great. The April/May 2008 issue of Games for Windows Magazine is dominated by Sins of a Solar Empire, with mentions on the cover, review section and more! The Games for Windows team rated Sins with an A- plus an Editor's Choice award saying, "While games like Medieval II have tried to marry the tenets of Civilization and StarCraft, Sins is the first game to successfully do so without storing them in separate compartments." The April/May issue is now available at newstands.
