Step-by-Step
Published on April 13, 2009 By Yarlen In Demigod Technical Support

Now that Demigod is available, quite a few people have been asking how they can register their game to play online.  Here's the step-by-step guide:

1)  Start Demigod and click Multiplayer

2) Click Internet

3) If you have an account, log in here. Your account is the same as you'd use on any Stardock website or Impulsedriven.com.  If you don't have an account click Create Account.  Otherwise, skip to Step 8.

4) Select Create new account. Enter your desired Account Name (i.e., nickname) and password. Please note your password must be between 8-12 characters.

5) Enter your name and email. A validation email will be sent to the address you enter. You'll need to follow think link in the email you receive to complete account setup.

6) Read through the Terms of Service if you like.

7)  Account creation complete!  Next Launch Impulse.

8) Click the Register Product button or the blue ? in the upper-right and select Register a product.

9) In the dialog, enter your Demigod serial number. The rest should be auto-entered for you.  This will allow you to play Demigod in online multiplayer, obtain updates, redownload the full game and much more.

Ok, they issued me a new serial. Pretty quick! Let's hope this one works!

     Thanks Zubaz .

Having the same issue, myself after I bought it from EB. Likewise, I lack a digital camera and scanner. Ditto for a cellphone with a camera, my cellphone lacks a camera, not surprising given that it's like, 7 years old...

What?

Ack just got my boxed copy from Amazon, and I'm getting an error when I try to register the CD key.  Emailed tech support, hope I can get a good key by the weekend so I can play.

Wow. If you don't want to read angry customer rant then skip what's left of my post.

Add me to the (obviously LARGE list) of paying customers going through support hell instead of playing the game we paid for.

Please cut the crap about 'Well it's not that many of you', 1 should be a BIG DEAL guys, and its VERY nieve to think that the majority of the customers with problems actually found their way to this BURIED THREAD. The Stardock employee who posted that as a reply had better get his ass chewed for that. How disrespectful can you get.

I have to also agree with a previous poster that while these new systems are built to help the developer make more money, they take the paying customer to the woodshed FAR too often. And so I will speak my opinion of this nonsense with my wallet. The next time I am in a store and see a Stardock product: No Thank You. I won't be forgetting this nonsense anytime soon.

I am even having the same problem with Sins. Won't register my CD Key. Checked my email addy, checked the key, over and over. All caps, with dashes. Nothing doing. #)($# wow.

What makes it more frustrating is that Sins and DemiGod(at least offline) are good games. But they are crippled by a buggy and sloppy content system that is FAR BELOW the Steam standard....and there's plenty of reason to not like Steam if you ask many. I have about 35 Steam games, and without exception using them through Steam has ADDED features(my cdkeys are stored online, I can download them again anytime, it automatically updates, etc etc)...simply put I would rather buy a game through Steam than the store. There's something to shoot for. In the case of the two games I am forced to saddle with Impulse...they are &$(% near ruined by this POS.

If you are going to tie your games hands with this content system, better get ALOT more serious about quality control and testing when it comes to Impulse. Bad word of mouth is a real killer, guys.

*Im off to go take pictures of my Sins and DemiGod boxes, etc, and ask StarDock Pretty Please Oh I really really purchased it please make it work....sounds like a fun night*

Sales and support busted ass and were working all day on these types of issues.  It sucks that there appears to be a problem but everyone is getting taken care of.  That team rocks.

I have not gotten the auto-reply from either of my emails out, will try using my other e-mail address.

Both emails I sent went to support@stardock without the .com....  I feel dumb right now .  Surprised I didn't get a bounceback either.

Hello, unaware that the registration name becomes your online multiplayer name, I'm trying to see if it's possible to move the registration to another email, or change the account name? Is this possible?

on Apr 16, 2009

It doesn't appear that you can change your screen name on Demigod yet.  Is there any plan to fix this?

on Apr 16, 2009

Oh you gotta be kidding me. I have to send in pictures of everything to prove I bought it? Not to mention I bought it from Amazon...

Tell ya what, Stardock fellas. I'm going to enjoy your delightful single-player game mode, and really learn the ins and outs of each character, while hoping that this wide-spread issue gets solved on your end. Good luck, (demi)god speed!

I've noticed from other sites the option to EDIT your own registration, since the registration is on your OWN computer.

http://www.impulsedriven.com/help/registrations.htm

Is there any plan to allow a user to EDIT their own registration info/email/etc. for Demigod?

Just a suggestion, but when facing irate consumers who bust ass for their hard earned dollars and expect a purchased product to perform as expected, dont try to defend yourself.  At all.

If I buy a dinner at a restaurant and I get a meal thats not cooked right, the manager had better not give me any crap about how the chefs bust their ass....All I care about is that I get what I ordered and it gets served right.  If that cant happen, then there no sense in spending the money on the product/service when there is so much competition out there these days.  Times are tough, and people are more discerning with their cash nowadays.  Given that, any response other than 'we deeply apologize for the problem and are working hard to rectify it' is simply inappropriate.

And now that I have said that I will lift you guys up a bit.  After two days and several emails and sending support scans/pics of my receipt, box and rulebook, I was given a new serial number and was able to patch the game.  So, all of you that are indeed able to comply with those particular demands will eventually get taken care of, I am sure.

But I make a decent amount of money and I buy 2 to 3 games a quarter as ones come out that I like, as do my circle of friends.  My experience, while wholly immaterial to the larger picture, has been one so that none of my friends are willing to touch this game until the various bugs and issues are remedied.  This is the first time in memory I have had to produce a receipt and send actual photos of a box/rulebook, and I will say it has indeed left me with a negative impression of the companies involved in this particular release.

/rant off.  Have a nice day.

Sent in my photo and serial number last night, and they already got back to me and added a new serial to my account. What a crappy problem, but at least they responded with awesome customer service.

Wow this is the first time an anti-piracy measure bit me in the bum, and it was only a simple CD-Key this time

I was not defending.  I was informing. (And complimenting the support team)

Would there be any way for me to send in photos of my game box, game disc, manual, code sticker, etc. and have them unregister my code, so I can register again with another name/email? Would that change the Demigod Multiplayer Login Name at all?
