Tweaks, fixes and maps!

Soon we'll be releasing the v1.05 update for Sins of a Solar Empire that should address many of the multiplayer issues some players have reported. This is a minor patch, however; more substantial updates will arrive with version 1.1.

v1.05 Changes:

  • Fixed bug deallocating particle pool memory.
  • Fixed cargo ship related crash caused when loading a saved game.
  • Increased the maximum length of map description text. If the text is too long, it will no longer crash the game.
  • AI missions no longer continue if a human player has taken over for them.
  • AI controlled units will no longer still have AI-control if a human player has taken over for them.
  • Fixed crash when attempting to toggle the autocast state for an uncontrollable ship/planet module.
  • Fixed capturable resource mines from being considered damageable.
  • Fixed sync error in multiplayer games caused by cannon autocast targetting.
  • Fixed squad owner infocards to gracefully handle large numbers of squads (100+).
  • Fixed crash if you run out of video memory when loading textures.
  • Planet asteroid setup now uses TotalMaxResourcesAsteroids parameter again.
  • Added two new maps: Melting Point and Ancient Gifts.
  • ICO accounts will now be forced to logout if you attempt to login with the same account.
  • Malice changed to fix CPU issues in the late game due to previous implementation of the ability. Malice now accumulates damage on affected targets and then spreads that damage when the buff expires, rather than spreading damage as soon as damage is applied. Its duration, cooldown and AM cost have all been reduced to reflect this. Malice is now target capped as well at 8/16/24 targets.
  • Fixed bug in galaxy generator related to vertical planet offsets when planets are too close together.
  • New default texture quality settings set.

Those fixes are nice especially the info card problem. There's a couple issues i think are more pressing though.

1.) Removing the limitations on how many variances of ships you have for capital ships and frigates etc.
2.) A sperate section for Neutral Colonies and a possible way to allie with them.
3.) A New option screen that would allow you to trade ships and planets with allies.
4.) An option to stop the enemy from quiting the game.
5.) A command code for area effects, for any potiential super weapon mods.

I don't like the AI on the pirates...the one who puts the most bounty on an enemy's head should be able to tell the pirates which strategic location to attack. Just like the CPU when they give targets to the players for an award. Also we can't tell the cpu which location to attack for an award. It makes the CPU look like it is only there for an easy win. Thats just my opinion, if any one can back me up on this one with me.

Awesome, another update. You guys rock! I don't know how many games I've played the past 20 or so years that didn't have 5 updates the whole product life, never mind in just several months. This is why I plunk down the dineros for your products (also doesn't hurt that they're fun to play!).

Reeaalllyyy looking forward to seeing what 1.1 has.

how about fixing revarie so disable the ship and can keep shooting the damn target? very annoying to disable the enemy and have to wait to be able to pound it to bits.

I dont know the game well enough to know what all this means, but what I do know is that it is excellent to see a company supporting their product after its release. Way to go guys!

My handle is supposed to be "HCG Doc". Fat finger syndrome - lol. Can't find any way to edit my profile.

I found this game last weekend. I have to say it totaly ROCKS!!!! This is absolutly the best RTS user interface I've ever seen - hands down.

"Thank you" to all the developers who undoubtedly spent countless hours playing RTS's in order to figure out the best way to implement one, the countless hours planing this one out, and then all the countless hours coding it. This game is the best. I was up for 52 hours straight since Friday 6am... the last 41 hours of it were spent in front of this game for 3 rounds back to back - lol.

Thanks, guys! It'll be a long time before this one gets old.

I'll have to agree with others, beef up the AI complexity while offering different levels of said AI.

Also, why is this called a "bonuspack"? Granted, it's a "bonus" that a developer keeps patching their titles after release in today's ADHD "patch it once and then forget about the consumers" industry (and I do thank you for continuing support of this game), but shouldn't it be called an update or patch while bonuspack infers extra content outside of the core game, additional to the basic software release?

This is a bonus for those who buy the game.
