Later today Ironclad Games and Stardock Entertainment are planning to release the latest updates for Sins of a Solar Empire, Sins of a Solar Empire - Entrenchment and Sins of a Solar Empire - Diplomacy/Trinity.  This is a small update, but resolves a long-standing desync/crash issue that's been causing pain to players.

As always, check your Impulse client for the update.

NOTE: This update may invalidate your save games

All:

+ This update fixes the most common desync and crash bug in each of the Sins games. Resolving this issue was a long time coming due to how difficult it was to track down, so we want to give special thanks to the following players for all their help -

  • Warren Tabada
  • Jordan Rideout
  • Kyle Leppert
  • Landon DePasquale
  • Frank Galati
  • Ben Horsley
  • Quarantine
  • Tristan Halverson

Sins of a Solar Empire - Diplomacy/Trinity:

Interface -

+ Trinity clients will now properly be labled on the main menu.
+ Play Entrenchment and Play Sins buttons now function properly and exist in the main menu.

Misc. -

+ Fixed a bug where certain treaties would break if the relationship between two players were negative and they were humans.

I just bought Trinity at a Target store....now How do I update my game to v1.191 so I can play the Mod SoA2

You need to install and register your game with the impulse program. After that, you will be able to patch or even digitally download the game as many times as you need.

why is this shit so complicated. I just bought Sins Trinity at Target last night, installed it and its v1.182 and I have a Star Trek Mod for v1.191, where do I find the patch to update my Sins from v1.182 to v1.191

You have to use the impulse program, it will install the patch for you. Stardock prides itself on good patch support but it wants to ensure only paying customers can get access to them. It is the only form of DRM the game has (you don't even need the disk in your computer), and its only complicated the first time.

You can even use the computer that has the internet (seems how you downloaded a mod I figure you have one computer to do so) and then transfer the full game, updated and all, to the computer that doesn't have internet.
