Another Chance for Pre-order Customers to Enter Stardock and Ironclad’s Epic Space Strategy Game Before Release
Published on June 13, 2007 By Yarlen In Sins News

This will be going out to the press tomorrow morning, but we wanted to give the Sins fans an early heads-up. There's a few new exclusive Sins shots for everyone below as well.

Gamers who missed the first phase of the Sins of a Solar Empire beta test will soon get another chance to play Stardock and Ironclad's highly anticipated strategy game ahead of its February 2008 release. Beta 2 launches on June 21 for anyone who has pre-ordered Sins of a Solar Empire via TotalGaming.net, and includes a ton of new features that will be included in the final game, as well as tweaks and fixes based on feedback from beta testers. June 21 will also see the launch of the new official Sins of a Solar Empire website at: https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com

Sins of a Solar Empire is an epic RT4X strategy game, providing grand-scale strategic gameplay in a real-time environment. Beta 2 once again allows would-be galactic commanders to play through the single-player sandbox game as the Trader Emergency Coalition (TEC), acting as high-level strategists to conquer new planets and to manage diplomatic relations, then seamlessly moving to the role of battle commander - directing individual ships to attack priority targets - via Sins' breakthrough 3D game engine.

In Beta 2, Ironclad Games has implemented an upgraded Bounty system including marauding Pirates, an improved interface including the new Event Tracking system, an expanded combat and tactical-counter model, improved planetary management, a new Capital Planet system, an expanded tech tree, upgraded strategic and tactical AI, even more strategic options, a refined economic system, improved graphics and much more. New players don't need to worry about getting lost in the new features, as Beta 2 also includes two new advanced tutorials and enhancements to existing tutorials to introduce new gameplay concepts.

Sins of a Solar Empire can be pre-ordered for $44.95 or 5 TGN tokens at: http://totalgaming.stardock.com/games/?id=sins. For more information about the game, visit the official website at: https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com

Now, the real question is, what are those scythe-like ships in the third screenshot?
on Jun 13, 2007
Yeah I am wondering also, in the lower right corner...

In regards to PCs , build your own, its easy to do!

if he got no knowledge as to how, and not feel comfortable with all the loss things. I can see its a problem tho

But the cheapest way is to buy all the things at different places and get a friend to put it togheter, if you dont know how

In the second image, is it just me, or does the fighters leave the hanger bay's of the carrier? does look that way

They ALWAYS leave the carrier like that, just wish the carrier bays opened and closed

Ok, I look at some of their prebuilt ones (which are cheaper and seem to be better, but I'm no expert) and I like these two:

http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=194

I would want either with 2GBs. The second one comes with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB w/DVI + TV Out Video card, which seems to be better, but I'm no expert. I want the second one more, but let me know what you guys think (it seems to be better and cheaper than the alien ware one).

I'd get one with the E6600 CPU , as it is the best bang for the buck right now on the market!

GFX card is fine, make sure you have a strong enough power supply, at least 500 watts with 2 12 volt rails.
on Jun 13, 2007
I'm kinda techtarded...sorry kosc. Neither "comes" with the E6600, its extra ($70), and my parents say they aren't made of money...

I dunno what you mean by 2 12 volt rails, and I don't know how many volts the standard power supply is. Yarlen, since you recomended this site, do you know the voltage of the standard power supply they give there?
on Jun 13, 2007
yeah but that 70 dollars is the difference between your PC being good 2 years from now...

What ever you do AT LEAST get a CPU that runs over 2Ghz
on Jun 13, 2007
Crap. It may be cheaper but I think my parents don't wanna pay all of it at once...

Can you pay it off over time like $50 dollars a month for 30 months? Or some other plan, it was just an example.

Also compare prices, maybe check out Dell.com ?

Also it was mentioned above, do you have any friends that can build it for you?

At nice mid-top range PC if built by a friend could cost around 1K. Which would be great!
on Jun 13, 2007
At dell I looked in the 1,000-2,000 dollar price range but the ones at buypower were still cheaper.

I have no friends!!!! Jk, but I don't have any friends that can make computers.

Also consider posting/asking questions at a good forum that deals with computer building all the time.

I am a member of http://www.ocforums.com/ for almost 2 years now, they are very friendly and helpful, and should guide you in the right direction!

I am on my 3rd self built PC, and the guys @ the forums helped me a lot in picking out what would be best for my price range.

I'm also known as lordkosc on those forums!

hehe... ok BACK ON TOPIC!

Thats basically what I want. I think I'll just buy a premade with a 8800.

Thanks for the help guys. Sorry that I distracted everybody.
