Ironclad Games and Stardock Entertainment are pleased to announce the planned start of Beta 1 for Sins of a Solar Empire: Diplomacy on Monday, November 23rd.

All Diplomacy pre-orders will be charged on Monday with access to the beta (which will not be fun, per our usual disclaimer).  Beta 1 will not be feature complete but will contain: New Envoy cruisers, Embassies, Diplomacy tech tree (much more to come here, only the backbone will be present), Mission Generator, the beginnings of the Pirate changes, "Faster" gameplay options and more.

To pre-order Sins of a Solar Empire: Diplomacy, just visit the Store.

You will be able to continue playing regular Sins and Entrenchment once Diplomacy is installed; just run the appropriate exe or launch which version you want from Impulse. However, since this is a beta, the possibility exists that Diplomacy may not install right. If this occurs, you'll be best served by uninstalling everything and reinstalling fresh from Impulse.

will the mods still be accessible? i just downloaded the star wars mod and it took awhile to trouble shoot the the download process and getting entrenchment to recognize the mod. i havent beta tested anything so i dont know much about the process. even though i've been gaming for 15 years. all i understand is that you release a rough draft, bring in some testers and get some feedback, right?

would love to help you guys out as much as possible, just worried about the mod situation. you guys have made a fantastic game with a fantastic engine that i can see getting into alot of fights over with my new wife. diplomacy is very lacking in almost every strategy game out there and it seems that not alot of developers can get it right. hopefully, this addition to sins would bring in new level of diplomacy in gaming.

please let me know, thanks.

I don't think that it will effect mods if you have to reinstall, unless something goes VERY wrong, because they are kept in:

C:\Users\jaxxa\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire

(Win7)

If you are worried just make a backup (copy) of that folder somewhere else and restore if things go pare shaped.

I am not a moderator, that is just how i understand it.

Also still have not got diplomacy, sent an email and waiting for a response.

I have placed my order under another email addresses, is it possible to activate the beta manually with the following steps?

1) Go to the registrations area of Impulse by clicking the question mark near
the top right corner and selecting "Register a product with Impulse".
2) Click the "Add Registration" button at the bottom of the window.
A. Copy and paste your serial number into the Serial Number field.
B. Enter the email address you used to place your order, as shown above.
C. If the Product Category and Product do not automatically change to the
correct product, change them as necessary.
D. Click "Add Registration".
3) Impulse should now display your software under the My Games or
My Software tab.
4) Select your software from the list and an Install button will appear in the
bottom right corner.  Click Install and follow the prompts.
5) Impulse will download all the necessary files and install them to your hard
drive.  Once this process is complete,  click Run to launch the software or
use your Windows Start Menu as you would for any other application.

I also sent an email to merge these two, and merged them myself afterwards... (wasn't aware of this possibility   ) but still no diplomacy. Impulse tells me i have the wrong serial number or email address.

I hope so because that is what i did.

I know it worked for the full version of entrenchment.

Just Finished Downloading Diplomacy.

Transfered things from my paypal email address to my main account address.

It worked for me.
