Stardock Corporation announced today that the first micro-expansion to Ironclad’s Strategy Game of the Year, Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment, is undergoing further incorporation of beta feedback to maximize quality and will now be available February 25 for download on Stardock’s digital download platform, Impulse (www.impulsedriven.com).

"One of Stardock’s key strategies for success with past games has been the incorporation of player feedback from our open betas," said Stardock President and CEO Brad Wardell. "We want fans to get the most of this expansion and are making sure we’re delivering the best content possible."

The additional time will allow for Ironclad’s development team to incorporate feedback to date and allow for another round of beta testing.

Ironclad’s Blair Fraser stated, "It’s of paramount importance to everyone that what we’re releasing is the best and most robust content we can."

Sins of a Solar Empire was IGN.com’s “PC Game of the Year” and achieved numerous “Strategy Game of the Year” awards and “Best of 2008” mentions from distinguished media outlets including G4TV, Gamespy.com, Wired, Gamasutra.com, Gametrailers.com and Gamespot.com.

I would like to know the same thing as Thrawn.

We are focusing on the sync bugs, crash bugs, the outstanding balance issues (primarily anti-structure and some minor mine related issues), improved AI, and the ability to have both original Sins and Entrenchment coexisting and some other polish items. Once we took a look at the great feedback from beta 2 and 2.5 we knew we could move past "good" to "great" if we dealt the issues you all brought up.

Wonderful News!!!  Glad to hear the New Beta release?  Is the 25th.  Or perhaps i misunderstood. Final release set for the 25th, with another beta between now and then?  Hmmm... doesnt seem to be enough time, im getting confused, but no matter, Entrenchment looks great!!  The polish and fixes have really made it stable now, and interesting!!

Now of course i have to try MP and start thinking what might #2 expansion look like, haha. Or is that even in work yet? I know IronClad is a small developer, so i dont know exactly if they can split the team, or if they are going sequentially?

Anyway, just guessing for now, but great job IronClad/Stardock.  Oh, and Fences! is very very cool!!!

Frogboy
Just to be clear, Ironclad is the developer of Sins. Stardock is the publisher. So it's Ironclad behind the development greatness of Sins.

but cant we just love you both
