but the little things that jut out bear remarkable similarity to other TEC ships. and looking at other, rounder TEC ships the jump isnt too large.

Outstanding. I really can't wait for this game.

gameplay over graphics.
I prefer to play a smooth 3 bit game rather than a clunky uber-engine game.

I absolutely agree with Schemanticsninja.

While I appreciate eye-candy like everyone else, The Game comes first with eye-candy a distant second. This is a strategy game, after all, so I don´t want to watch a video/slide show, I want to play!

Just my 2 cent

Say what you want, graphics are first impressions to me, and gameplay additions come second. All the majority ever need to know is what type of game it is and how great it looks; sad, but true. That's what I think.

Thanks for the answers Yarlen
But on image 2, they just look so small (well that might be because of the distance), and looks like they are moving around the planet for some reason

True. Like on the egosoft forum for X³: Reunion, some of the devs said once that grafics sells and then comes gameplay for keeping it alive.

But i prefer as Schemanticsninja said gameplay over grafics, but thats not whats gonna sell the game.
But looking at sins, i dont think it will have any problems selling the picasso game

Galactic Civ 2 is a perfect example of "gameplay > graphics"

Sins looks mighty fine graphically and I hope it plays as well as its being hyped!

At the very bottom of the first photo there is a Vasari ship (its the one that looks like the seaQuest for those unlucky enough to have seen that show). Now that I look at it there are one or two Vasari ships there. They serve to highlight the difference between them and the Advent ones. Vasari ships are a much darker blue, almost if not completely black, whereas the lighter blue ones would the the Advent (I still highly doubt that they are TEC).

EDIT: On high res you can make out a TEC ship in the background, its the same one as in the second photo (we're seeing a lot of that one aren't we?) There is a definite difference there. For those who can't find it, it is (in high res) towards the left horizon of the planet near the orbital facility.

seaQuest was a good show!

There are small triangle lik ships near the planet if you zoom in.

I love the ship designs.I can't wait to see how the game plays.

Ok, to each his own I guess, I liked it when it was a serious drama, but then it went all "Sea Trek"

Yeah I don't know what they're supposed to be, ships, stations, space elevators, planetary defence grid? Devs when will you learn, any batch of screenshots is bound to be followed by endless fanboy discussion and analysis, annotate dammit annotate!

I believe color change is possible. so there goes that arguement.
and they still aren't shiny enough to qualify (they need the colorful radiance that I have yet to see)

I think those ships are of the same race, since there is no battles going on.

Or they are allies, which means that inter-race alliances are possible.

they look the same

and keep in mind taht colors also change based on surroundings.

This looks like the developmental ancestor of the ships in the shot, (this is definitely Advent), both the triangular bow and the dual rear engines are extremely reminiscent of the ships in the shot.

Even if it doesn't entirely resemble the ships in question, the design trademarks (the bow, the engines and the protrudy thingys) are all present.
